General

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees respects your privacy and is therefore committed to data protection and freedom of information. This naturally also applies when you visit our website.

We issue this data protection declaration to inform you about our data protection policies and measures, and in particular about what we do to protect your data and what data we collect in the first place.

We are committed to protecting the data of visitors to our website. This also applies to external service providers within the scope of their tasks performed for the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.

Children and persons under the age of 18 should not submit any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or legal guardians. We encourage parents and guardians to actively participate in their children’s online activities and interests.

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees does not request personal data from children, does not collect it, and does not pass it on to third parties.

Data controller

The controller in accordance with Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR is the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, represented by its President Dr. Hans-Eckhard Sommer.

Access and storage

Each time you access our website and each time you download a file, the following information is automatically stored:

• Browser type
• Operating system
• Referrer URL (previously visited page)
• Host name (IP address)

The processing of the browser data is a technical requirement and is carried out in our interest to properly display our website to you and to ensure its stability and security.

The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR.

We store the browser data in so-called server log files for a period of seven days for the purpose and in our interest of clarifying acts of abuse or fraud.

The browser data is not stored together with other data relating to you. Any browser data that needs to be retained for evidential purposes is excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR.

For the provision of the website, we use the services of the Informationstechnikzentrum Bund (ITZBund) or of a web hoster with whom we have concluded an order processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 Para. 3 GDPR.

Use of the website

Session cookies

www.bamf-digitalisierungsagenda.de was created for the purpose of marketing the Digitisation Agenda 2022. The site will operate for the duration of the campaign.

Data collection/data processing

When you contact us, we process the personal data provided by you in our interest and for the purpose of processing your enquiry or your feedback, responding to it and/or contacting you about it.

Contact by e-mail

You can contact the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees by e-mail via functional mailboxes.

The personal data sent to the functional mailboxes and stored in the organisational unit responsible for the central message distribution is deleted in accordance with the legal requirements and upon request.

Data provided by you (e.g, surname, first name, address), but at least the e-mail address, as well as the information contained in the e-mail (including any personal data provided by you) are stored in the organisational units for the purpose of contacting you and processing your request.

The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted during the course of sending an e-mail is Art. 6 para. 1 (e) GDPR.

It is necessary to process the personal data provided by you for the purpose of processing your request.

If we receive an e-mail from you, we assume that we are entitled to reply by e-mail. Otherwise, you must explicitly request us to use an alternative method of communication.

The user has the option of revoking his/her consent to the processing of personal data at any time. If the user contacts us by e-mail, he/she can object to the storage of personal data at any time. In this case, the conversation cannot be continued.

All the personal data stored during the course of contacting us is then deleted.

Rights of data subjects

Information

Everybody has the right to request confirmation from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees as to whether personal data concerning them is processed. If such processing has occurred, information may be requested on all the data processed.

Deletion

If it is proven that personal data has been processed unlawfully, the deletion of the data concerned is to be initiated without delay. This also applies if the data is no longer required to complete the task.

Correction/completion

If it is proven that the personal data processed by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is incorrect or incomplete, it is to be rectified or completed immediately after becoming known.

Withdrawal of consent

If data is processed on the basis of the consent of the data subject, the consent can be withdrawn at any time without giving reasons with effect for the future. The processing carried out until the consent is withdrawn remains unaffected by this.

Right to complain

Data subjects have the option of contacting the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Bundesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit, Graurheindorfer Str. 153, 53117 Bonn, Germany) if they believe that the processing of data concerning them violates the General Data Protection Regulation.
