For a limited period of time, the website is providing a highly visual offering that is not yet completely compatible with the aforementioned requirements. With regard to the basic usability of the navigation, the website was implemented as accessible, but is not accessible as defined by the mentioned requirements.

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees launches a cloud platform

Section 22B provides IT projects and IT procedures with a future-proof platform and services to ensure the smooth operation and the efficient provision of scalable applications as a reliable partner. The aim is to enable the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees to meet the requirements of a digital authority. This goal is achieved by implementing a platform solution that is operated by Section 22B.
Cloud services are defined as services that are delivered in the course of application development that can be accessed offering a high degree of standardisation and automation, mostly with self-service capability, dis-pensing with the need for manual provisioning. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is reaping major benefits from the introduction of platform solutions on its premises and the flexible use of private and public cloud services that are part of a hybrid cloud strategy, namely faster delivery, a higher level of security, better scalability and greater flexibility during peak loads. Section 22B is currently working on building the platform and defining the corresponding services in order to en-sure timely and full commissioning. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees' platform will in future be managed by Section 22B and will consist of three layers, namely application, platform and infrastructure. Cloud platforms are all about abstraction: each of the above-mentioned layers should only be used for their intended purpose. All the other functions of the platform are to be accessed from highly-standardised, underlying layers. By adopting a future-oriented hybrid cloud platform solution, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is playing a pioneering role in the use of cloud technologies in Germany's public administration.

Eine Cloud-Plattform für das BAMF

Das Referat 22B stellt IT-Projekten und IT-Verfahren eine zukunftsfähige Plattform sowie Services zur Verfügung, um als zuverlässiger Partner einen stabilen Betrieb sowie die effiziente Bereitstellung skalierbarer Anwendungen zu gewährleisten. Ziel ist es, dem BAMF zu ermöglichen, den Anforderungen an eine digitale Behörde gerecht zu werden. Dieses Ziel wird durch die Implementierung einer vom Referat 22B betriebenen Plattformlösung erreicht.

Als Cloud-Dienste werden solche Dienste im Zuge der Anwendungsentwicklung bezeichnet, die mit einem hohen Standardisierungs- und Automatisierungsgrad und dabei meist im Selfservice bezogen werden können – also keine manuelle Bereitstellung nötig ist. Durch die Einführung von Plattformlösungen im Bundesamt und mittels flexibler Nutzung von Private- und Public-Cloud-Diensten im Rahmen einer Hybridcloudstrategie ergeben sich für das BAMF erhebliche Vorteile, insbesondere eine schnellere Bereitstellung, höhere Sicherheit, bessere Skalierbarkeit und mehr Flexibilität bei Lastspitzen. Das Referat 22B beschäftigt sich derzeit mit dem Aufbau der Plattform und der Definition entsprechender Services um eine zeitnahe, vollständige Inbetriebnahme zu gewährleisten. Die BAMF-Plattform wird zukünftig von 22B gesteuert und besteht aus drei Schichten: Anwendung, Plattform und Infrastruktur. Die Kernidee der Plattform ist die der Abstraktion: Jede der oben genannten Schichten soll nur das tun, wofür sie da ist. Alle weiteren Funktionalitäten der Plattform sollen von hochstandardisierten, darunterliegenden Schichten bezogen werden. Mit dem Ansatz einer zukunftsorientierten hybriden Cloud-Plattformlösung nimmt das BAMF in der Nutzung von Cloud-Technologien eine Vorreiterrolle in der öffentlichen Verwaltung in Deutschland ein.
